A finished letter only tells half the story. Animated formation shows how the letter is made, from the first movement to the final stroke, with writing lines to give it a familiar place on the page.
Slow down, pause and replay
Switch to half speed when a movement needs a closer look. Pause to talk about the starting point, then replay the letter as often as your learner needs.
Bring any letter into focus
Open the letter library and choose from lowercase or uppercase A–Z. Move directly to the letter you are teaching, with your chosen handwriting style already in view.
Model it for the whole class
Use presentation mode to make your activity the focus. Demonstrate a letter or your own words together, then return to the same model during small-group or individual practice.

Can I demonstrate uppercase and lowercase letters?
Yes. The letter library has separate uppercase and lowercase selections for English A–Z. Choose a letter to bring its formation into focus, then use the player to watch it form.
Can I change the animation speed?
Yes. The player offers normal speed and half speed, along with pause and replay controls. You can slow down a demonstration without changing the handwriting model.
Can I show words as well as individual letters?
Yes. Create an activity with your own words or short sentences and open its teaching or presentation view. The letter library is useful for focusing on a single letter; an activity puts those letters into context.
Does it teach numbers or other writing systems?
The app currently supports English A–Z and selected punctuation. Number formation, accented names and other scripts are not supported. Punctuation is typeset rather than demonstrated as animated strokes.
Will it match our school’s way of teaching?
Choose from the Australian handwriting models available in the app and check the starting points, stroke directions and joins against your school’s approach. Regional names identify the models; they do not imply education-department endorsement.
Do children need to write on the screen?
No. The animation is a model to watch and discuss. Children can practise with pencil and paper using a printed activity. Handwriting Boost does not automatically assess their written work.
